Week 26

Week 26

It's official, my non-maternity shirts are getting too short! AHHHH!

Time to go shopping for this momma! This week was a fun one...Andy was away on a bachelor party in New Orleans, which meant I got to go shopping and work on getting stuff for little Crall!

On the agenda for this week/weekend:

Facial - Awesome and much needed after pregnancy ache showed up and created a few mountains on my forehead! Ugh!

Baby Consignment sale - Scored a couple expensive items at a fraction of the cost! Basically brand new Boppy pillow, Brest Friend pillow and of course some little beanies (or toboggans as my Ohio boy likes to call them) that say "Ladies Man" and "Chick Magnet"...both will be suiting I'm sure! ;-)

Babies R Us glider sale - Momma made an executive decision to snatch up a good deal and bought me a glider for little mans room! Pretty sure it will be my new bed once he's born!

Michael's/JoAnne's Sale - bought letter for baby Crall's bedroom wall (50% off) and then got blocks to make to match for my maternity and newborn photo shoot (TBD).

Thanks to my girl Debbie for keeping me company and being the bestest deal shopper ever with me! I honestly felt like we were on the show Extreme Couponing! :)

Next up on the agenda for this weekend...

Jackie's BIG 3-0 surprise birthday party! I must say it's so nice to have such amazing friends! I've known Jackie since college and although we don't live all that close to eachother it's ALWAYS so fun to get together and catch up! Not to mention she just had a little baby girl as mentioned a few posts ago and she's looking AMAZING! Of course I didn't have my phone to take a pic with the Bday girl or Baby Grace but I got some pics of her son Will that can make an appearance in her place! PS - Isn't he the cutest thing?!

Being that this is Cinco de Mayo...a little pregnancy is not going to keep me from going out on the town! This hott momma picked up the crew, Craig, Debbie and Scott and we headed out to Salty Senorita's. Clearly being the prego that I am, I had to entertain my-sober-self by ordering a virgin daiquiri and walking around so as many people as possible would see me! It was quite comical watching people talking about me or staring at my belly and then my drink and then back at my belly! HILARIOUS! I really wanted to take an empty Dos Equis bottle and fill it with water and walk around with it instead but I declined. :P

We also made our way from Saltys over to Taco Bell/Long John Silvers (why this combination of restaurants is allowed I'm not too sure) to make sure my non-pregnant friends had some sort of base for their night of drinking, and then headed over to watch Debbie's Dad's band play for a bit! (Warning: Heavy drinking, chicken planks (what a stupid name, BTW) and soft tacos do not mix well)

I think this little momma did just fine on her own, but I will say...Having your husband away in New Orleans on a bachelor party trip does make the sleeping a little bit more difficult. However, all is well and my Hubs made it home still drunk I think in one piece, thankfully!

Love,
K & Baby Crall

Week 25

Week 25

Time for another monthly check up! I must say these months feel like they're going by so slowly...and then I realize how much time we have until little man makes his appearance and suddenly I feel like they're FLYING by!

Recapping: Week 25

How Far Along: 25 weeks

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 15 lbs

Belly Growth (fundal height): from 20cm to 24cm

Maternity Clothes: The weather is getting warmer so trying to wear my stretchy skirts as much as possible. Scrubs are still doing the trick for work so no shopping spree just yet!

Gender: BOY!

Movement: Lots! After I eat he becomes a little wiggle worm which is normally when I start getting busy at work which makes it interesting when talking to patients! Quick restroom breaks are much needed! :)

Sleep: My back is starting to feel better, THANK GOD! I was given a snoogle by a co-worker of mine and I must say it's heavenly! It takes up my half of the bed but I find that I'm sleeping much better. I will say that if I have to wake up for a potty break, Baby Crall thinks it's party time and decides he's going to move all over the place until he gets comfy again and falls asleep...then I get to fall asleep! I guess this is going to be the story of my life, right?!

What I miss: Nothing too major...With cinco de mayo approaching I'm sure there will be a margarita/daiquiri/Mexican beer craving for a split second but other than that I'm doing just fine.

Cravings: Same as before really - Nothing outside of the norm, I always love mexican food (not good for the above pictures or weight gain tracking) and tuna sandwiches (in moderation of course)
Symptoms: less back pain than before so I can't complain too much! I will say I've started to have a weird pain under my "girls"...not sure if it's from my belly supporting these suckers or more ligaments/muscles moving around but sometimes it burns and others it feels like something is stretching inside my stomach...very weird! Of course this starts AFTER my doctors appointment (add it to the Dr Question list).

Best Moment This Week: Feeling him move is the COOLEST feeling ever! I can't imagine never experiencing this feeling!

Next Dr visit: 5/23/12 Glucose Test...Yippee! Not!

Week 23-24

Week 23-24
The infamous bump progression

Happy Birthday to my baby daddy! Of course with the big addition to the Crall family Andy decided he wanted to take a much quieter approach to turning another year older this year.  We spent the day hanging out with friends and celebrating little miss Reagan Hennessy's birthday and then made our way to our favorite Mexican restaurant, Valle Luna for a birthday dinner celebration!

Happy Birthday my love!

To celebrate a birthday in true Crall fashion we extended the festivities to another night out with our good friends, The Goodman's and treated ourselves to a nice dinner at Mastro's Steakhouse! Happy Birthday to Kellee too! More good food, good friends, and good times!

 Happy Birthday again my love!

Happy Birthday Kellee!!

Andy's birthday dessert...safe to say Me & baby Crall enjoyed this for Dad! :)

Happy 8th Birthday also goes out to our little flounder and future
BIG SISTER...Miss Kayleigh Crall!
We love & miss you!!

Upcoming Baby News: Next doctors appointment is 4/23/12

Until next week...

Week 21-22

Week 21

Nesting has officially begun at the Crall household! As the belly grows we get closer and closer to meeting our little man and we have so much we want to get done! With my on-going back pains it starts to make Momma Crall worry about being able to get everything done in time without pushing myself too far. With that being said...THANK GOD FOR FRIENDS AND FAMILY!  My Mom and I planned a girls spa day which was much needed for this mommy-to-be, although I must say pregnancy massages are not nearly as enjoyable. Just not the same when you have to lay on your side and have three pillows smothering you. Don't get me wrong a massage is a massage and I'll take what I can get!

Inaddition to my spa day with Momma Brito, we also had ANOTHER birthday...this time a possible future girlfriend for Baby Crall! Miss Waverly Scalise was born on March 31st to my birthday twin Blair and her hubby Ryan! Congrats to the Scalise family on their beautiful little girl!

WEEK 22

My mom decided on a date to host a baby shower for Baby Crall and I which also sent me in a little panic! What do I register for? What do I really need? What brands and products are better than others? So many questions and for someone who is incredibly indecisive, this is a MAJOR task at hand! Mom's know best...that's the saying right?! Well, of course they do and my Mom talked me off the ledge and helped me prioritize what's important and what big ticket items are really worth the big money. Future to do: Actually register!

As part of our Crall family nesting stage, we decided that we should remove our NASTY, FILTHY, DISGUSTING carpet and lay down hardwood floors so Baby Crall doesn't have to crawl around on old dirty carpet. This has been on our wish list for quite some time and with little man on the way it became a pressing priority! Within a week...Andy researched flooring, took me to the store to get approval, bought the supplies and (personally) laid the flooring!

This is where our friends come into play. Craig and Debbie spent 32+ hours of Easter weekend at Casa de Crall pulling up carpet, chiseling tile, pulling baseboards, laying wood floors, and then helping us clean! Talk about GOOD friends, we definitely could not have done it without them! Here are some of the pictures during our work in progress.

 Demo near completion
 Single line placed as base
 Manual Labor
Andy & Craig covered in glue and finished for the night enjoying an ice cold beverage
Best friends are good to have...they make sure you don't have glue marks! Thanks Deb!
We're done!
Furniture moved back in and now getting the house back in order.

Happy Easter from the exhausted Crall Family

One major task off the Crall To-Do list...next up...painting Baby Crall's room!

Additional side notes from this very busy week: Happy Birthday to my helper Debbie (4/3), my little sister Kelsey (4/5), my Mother-in-law Anne (4/8) and yet another potential girlfriend for Baby Crall, Ms. Grace Marie Bycott (4/8)...Congrats to Jackie and Shane for their new bundle of joy!

More updates to come...

Love,
K & Baby Crall

Weeks 18-20

Week 18 - HUGE NEWS!

On Wednesday March 7th we went in for another ultrasound, this time it was to measure all the important things like...the brain, heart, spine, lungs, etc and we got SOLID confirmation that our little peanut was in fact....

 A BOY!!!

Apparently at this visit he was more open to showing off the "not so important" details more than he was, you know, HIS HEART! Hopefully this is not the showing of his future! :P With this said we were scheduled to come back three weeks later to see if HE would cooperate a bit more with the ultrasound tech!

Side Note: Happy Birthday to one of Baby Crall's best buddies....Jacob Von Adams on March 10th!! So happy for our good friends Sam and Jared on their newest family member!

Week 19

Since we have to wait three weeks for more fun the next monumental event this week was another birthday for another bud for Baby Crall and the fun St Patrick's Day as a mom-to-be, which means NA Chardonnay and the Designated Driver by Default for all my friends to enjoy their adult beverages and FALL OVER...if you were there...you know what a I mean! :)

Happy Birthday to Camdyn Joel Flores on March 15th! Congrats to Erika and Cesar on their new bundle of joy! Happy St Patrick's Day lil Cam!

Here are the infamous belly shots!

Baby Recap Week 13-17

So about that week-to-week update....Yaaaa I'm slacking! Not because I'm pregnant and feeling like crap, actually it's quite the contrary, we have just been crazy busy and frankly there's not a whole heck of a lot going on with my changing body. My belly is starting to "pop" as they say so I guess that's important but the last month has been so boring! I lay in bed at night hoping to feel something moving down there just to realize, nope, it was just gas! I will say since we've moved into the 2nd trimester my energy level is back (YAY!) and I'm feeling pretty normal. No sickness. Not even nausea in the littlest bit. (Sorry to all my girlfriends that haven't had the same luck! I don't know how you girls functioned!) I have on the other hand had my share of headaches and hip cramps at night. And if that's the worst of it, I'll take it!

Every pregnant friend I know tells me to "TAKE PICTURES TAKE PICTURES TAKE PICTURES!!!" You're going to wish you documented this whole experience! I've seen super cute girls come up with creative ways of tracking the baby bump but I'm not them. At this point I just feel like I look like I've had a few too many stops at Taco Bell (which I have shhhh) and inhaled a couple Big Macs (I have NOT - ew) but believe it or not for the first 4.5 months I haven't really gained any weight (and I'd like to keep it that way for as long as possible! Yes I know its the inevitable). So here are those "Oh-so-lovely I just look like I'm fat(ter)" pictures.
Weeks 13-16
week 16-17

Let's see if I can get some sort of recap going here... courtesy of Miss E's

Recapping: weeks 13-17

How Far Along: 17 weeks

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 4 lbs

Maternity Clothes: Belly Bands are A-mazing! Thank you Sam and Jackie!

Gender: unknown (we find out next Wednesday!)

Movement: First consistent movement felt was YESTERDAY morning! I was working away at my desk and had to come to a screeching halt to just sit and enjoy the little flutters going on! I will say this is the COOLEST experience and one of the MANY reason I wanted to become a mother (which still hasn't completely hit me yet).

Sleep: Restless, some nights are better than others. Andy has decided it's easier for the both of us if he falls asleep on the couch and then wonders into bed in the middle of the night. Although, I'm an incredibly light sleeper these days, so hearing his walk into the room in the middle of the night wakes me up but nothing another kiss goodnight doesn't fix.

What I miss: WINE! WINE! WINE! Not that I was a wine-o before but we had a couples Valentines Day dinner and all my girlfriends were drinking wine and well, I couldn't! I wanted to so bad but instead my girl Stacy made me the next best thing a virgin strawberry Daquiri that was to-die-for and totally hit the spot! The other thing that I miss is soft cheeses - Tis the season for baby showers and the brie is calling my name! Who knew I would miss these things so much!?

Cravings: Nothing outside of the norm, I always love mexican food
(not good for the above pictures or weight gain tracking) and tuna sandwiches (in moderation of course)

Symptoms: Back pain, cramping, headaches

Best Moment This Week: Feeling the little peanut move yesterday!

Best Daddy Moment This Week: Disclaimer: This starts off scary but ends well, I promise and Andy will probably be mad I'm writing about him but screw it!

The past couple weeks haven't had much action but there was a night when Cali
(our dog) was playing with Andy and decided she was going to pounce on me (my upper stomach, not the baby) while I was laying on the couch (don't worry Baby Crall is PERFECTLY fine!) and practically knock the wind out of me. Although I was in tears because I was more caught off guard than in pain, Daddy mode kicked into high gear and Andy immediately rushed over grabbed the dog away from me and asked if "Cali hurt the baby?" "Do we need to go to the hospital?" he was in a bit of a panic and although I'm sure he'll be mad at me for sharing this story it was just the most adorable thing ever! For those that know my husband he's not one to get all flustered and excited over something so to see him like this just melted my heart! Love him! :)

Crall Family Update!

It's official, Baby Crall is coming...and will be the best birthday present a mother could ask for. August 5th 2012 is his/her birthday, just 5 days apart from my BIG 3-0!

I must say it's so much better to have the news out in the open! Nothing like finding out your pregnant right before the holidays and a MILLION Christmas/New years parties and not one adult beverage...or soft cheese...or deli meat....or
CAFFEINE...talk about difficult! But we made it thru the LONGEST 12 weeks of our lives and Baby Crall is here for the long haul! Two ultrasounds down and all tests point to HEALTHY...we couldn't ask for much more!

I will be doing my best to keep everyone up to date with new pictures and stories week by week. I'm thinking I'll have to steal Miss E's
weekly baby journal to keep tabs on this growing belly, i mean, baby of ours.

For now here's a sneak peek into the beginnings of our little pride and joy!

Thank you to all of you that have already sent all the well wishes and congrats! We are so lucky to have such amazing friends and supportive family! I'm off to attempt to get some sleep (or lack there of already!) and do some comical reading of Jenny McCarthy Belly Laughs Thanks Sam for the hilarious reads...every pregnant momma-to-be (or just any female in general) needs to read this book!! Too funny!

G'night,
Mommy-to-be
